Born in 1982, Emre Dörter began his photography journey in 2000 at Victoria University in Canada. After graduating from Anadolu University in Eskişehir in 2005, he completed a master's program in Fashion Photography at Accademia Italiana in Florence in 2007 and began his professional career at Roberto Quagli's studio, working for brands including Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo and D&G.

He established his Istanbul studio in 2008. Beginning with Elle Decoration Turkey, he went on to work with publications including Vogue, Marie Claire, Maison Française and Food & Travel. His lifestyle, interior and travel photography, together with his photojournalistic articles, appeared in Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast and Wallpaper's 2014 Istanbul Guide, among others.

His architectural photographs have been published in international magazines and books, including Taschen's Architecture Now! 9. His work has also appeared on the covers and pages of Architectural Record in the USA, AIT in Germany, Concept in Korea and architectural publications in Turkey.

For Turkish Airlines, he photographed and filmed destinations across Africa, the Americas and the Far East, producing stories focused on places, people and cultures around the world.

Alongside his commissioned work, Dörter has taken part in international exhibitions including Europalia Turkey 2015. He served as art director for the installation Beloved at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 2016 and for the Kazakhstan Pavilion at EXPO 2017 Astana. Based in Istanbul, he works across architecture, interiors, still life, lifestyle and travel photography.
